Two Weimaraner Puppies Hopped Into a Bicycle Basket and Stayed Put
The bicycle is parked in a doorway, and the front basket is full of two silver-gray passengers. They sit side by side on a folded gray blanket, ears neatly down, their dark eyes looking straight ahead as if they are waiting for the ride to start. The handlebar rises behind them, and a plant, a tote bag and a pair of shoes sit nearby. They look pleased with the view and equally pleased with each other.
Bike baskets look adorable, but they are not a safe place for a puppy during a ride. A dog can jump, shift or fall, and a sudden stop can be dangerous. If you want to bike with your dog, wait until the dog is fully grown, check with your vet, and use a trailer or carrier made for the job. For puppies, a parked basket for photos or sitting is fine with supervision. Weimaraners are active dogs who usually love adventures with their families, and walks are a great, safe way to share the outdoors.
For now, the bike stays still and the passengers stay happy. It is the calmest ride in town.
The two of them seem to be waiting for a gentle ring of the bell and a slow roll down a quiet lane. It will not happen today, but their patience is admirable and their posture is perfect.
