A Samoyed Puppy Took Over the Flower Basket and Owned It
Sitting tall and proud, a little white puppy has made herself the centerpiece of a wicker basket overflowing with blue hydrangea blooms, white daisies, and small purple blossoms. Her ears point up, her pink-edged nose catches the light, and her dark eyes look straight ahead with calm confidence. On the porch behind her, a pair of sandals and a green watering can wait for the gardener to return.
Flowers and puppies make a charming pair, but not every bloom is safe. Some common garden plants, including lilies, azaleas, and tulip bulbs, can be harmful if a dog chews them. If you keep a curious puppy around a garden, learn which plants are toxic, and call your vet or an animal poison hotline right away if you suspect she ate something. Fresh cut flowers in a vase deserve the same caution.
This breed is well known for its expressive face, with upturned mouth corners nicknamed the Sammy smile. That friendly look is part of why Samoyeds are so popular as family dogs. They tend to be sociable and eager to be near people, which is also why they do best when included in the household rather than left alone in a yard for long hours.
Today, though, she is the star of the porch display, and she seems to know it.
