Three Corgi Puppies Decided the Big Knit Sweater Was Theirs
Three red and white Corgi puppies have settled into a giant knit sweater, as if it had been knit just for them. The pup on the left has a pink nose and sleepy, glassy eyes, the one in the middle looks up from the cable-knit folds, and the third is half hidden with one ear flopped over. A couch, a gray pillow, and a pile of denim wait in the background, and a few shoes are scattered across the floor.
Puppies love soft fabrics that smell like their people, and a sweater that has been worn offers comfort and familiarity. If your pup likes to nap in your clothes, it is a sign that they feel safe near you. A small blanket or an item you have worn can help a new puppy settle into a new home at night.
With knitwear, a few cautions apply. Loose yarn can be chewed and swallowed, and swallowed fabric can cause a serious blockage that needs a vet's help, so keep an eye on a puppy who chews. It is better to offer old cotton towels or a safe, washable pet blanket as a bed. Corgis also tend to run warm because of their thick coats, so a sweater is a nice bed but not something to put on a puppy without a good reason.
These three do not seem worried about any of that. They are warm, they are together, and they have found a soft nest that fits exactly. A little white paw sticks out from the pile, as if to say the nap has already begun.
