A Sable Corgi Puppy Found the Best Seat in the Mudroom
Perched in a yellow rain boot as if it were a tiny throne, a sable Corgi puppy looks up with dark, thoughtful eyes. The fur is a soft mix of tan and brown with a fluffy chest, and the ears tilt out to each side. Beside the yellow boot stand a muddy olive boot, a navy one, and a gray one, and behind them a mudroom comes into view with hanging coats, a basket, tote bags, and a plant by the window.
Sable coloring in Corgis comes from tan fur with darker tips, and puppies often look like fuzzy little foxes. As they get older, the shading often changes, which makes it fun to watch a puppy grow. Corgis in general are friendly, active dogs who love being around their family, so a mudroom full of boots is a great place to be if people are coming and going.
Boots can be a safe place to sit, but a puppy who loves shoes may be tempted to chew them. Rubber and leather can cause stomach upset or blockages if swallowed, so keep footwear out of reach and offer a variety of chew toys. Teaching your puppy to leave shoes alone is easier with patience and rewards than with scolding.
The small sable pup in the yellow boot has plenty of confidence, and the other boots stand beside her like a loyal audience. She does not appear to be going anywhere, and the doorway is hers to guard.
