Four Corgi Puppies Discovered a Giant Ball of Yarn on the Rug
A big ball of cream yarn sits in the middle of four red and white Corgi puppies, and the strands are already stretched across the rug. One pup paws at the top of the ball, another has a nose pressed right into it, a third watches from the left with one pink-lined ear up, and the fourth grins from the side with its tongue showing. A basket of laundry, a plant, a window, and a pile of clothes fill the room behind them.
Yarn is a favorite toy of cats, and puppies like it too, but it is not safe for dogs. Swallowed yarn and string can cause a serious blockage, sometimes called a linear foreign body, that needs urgent veterinary care. If your puppy gets hold of yarn, take it away right away, and call your vet if any has been swallowed or if you see a strand hanging out.
A safer way to satisfy a puppy's urge to pounce and pull is a rope toy made for dogs, or a soft plush with no loose strings. Corgis, with their herding history, like to chase and tug, so games that involve movement and short training bursts are ideal. Keep sewing and craft supplies in a closed bin, and your pup will find plenty of other things to enjoy.
Here, the yarn is a joyful mess, and all four pups are in the middle of the fun. A cleanup will be needed soon, but for the moment, they are delighted with their find.
