Three Corgi Puppies Yawn at Exactly the Same Moment on the Couch
Three red and white Corgi puppies sit side by side on a gray couch, and all three are caught in a gigantic yawn. Pink tongues curl up, tiny white teeth show, and every pair of eyes is squeezed shut. The one on the left has a dark nose and a tilted head, the one in the middle leans forward, and the one on the right has its ears folded back. Behind them are soft curtains and a bright window, casting a gentle glow over the room.
Yawning is contagious, and dogs seem to catch it from one another and sometimes from their people. Researchers have noticed this in many animals, and for puppies the likeliest explanation is simple. They are sleepy, they are together, and one yawn leads to the next. Puppies also yawn when they are excited or a bit unsure, so a yawn can be a way to relax.
Puppies of this age need a lot of rest, and a Corgi pup who is yawning may be asking for a nap. Learning to recognize tired signals, such as rubbing eyes, slowing down, or becoming cranky, helps you give them downtime before they get overwhelmed. A quiet spot with soft bedding is perfect.
Right now, these three are working together on the loudest quiet moment of the day. The couch has never had a better set of cushions, and the next step is surely a nap that all of them have earned.
