Four Corgi Puppies Are Having a Meeting Over One Old Slipper
Four red and white Corgi puppies have found a worn gray slipper and they are all working on it at once. One chews at the heel, another has the toe, a third watches from behind with a tilted head, and the fourth at the bottom has a front paw planted firmly on the sole. A mug of tea, a pile of clothes, a knit blanket, and a stack of papers sit around them on the floor, and the room looks like a busy morning in a happy house.
Puppies chew, and there is no way around it. Chewing helps them explore the world, relieves discomfort while their adult teeth come in, and keeps their jaws busy. Shoes are a favorite target because they smell strongly of their owners. The best approach is to offer a lot of appropriate chew toys, keep shoes in a closed closet, and trade a toy for the slipper when you find one in a puppy's mouth.
Slippers and other fabrics can be dangerous if pieces are swallowed, so take them away if a puppy starts to tear them. Corgis in particular are clever and persistent, so they will try again. Staying consistent and rewarding the right choices makes a huge difference. If you suspect your puppy ate part of a shoe, call your vet.
For now, the slipper has lost the battle. Four tiny jaws are busy, and the room's cheerful chaos suggests that there will be another casualty soon. At least they are working together.
