The Yard Work Wasn't Done, but the Grass Looked Too Inviting
Somewhere between finishing the yard work and starting the next chore, two tired friends decided the grass looked too inviting. Grandpa lies flat on his back on the lawn, eyes shut, his white mustache drooping peacefully, still wearing his fishing vest with lures and tools clipped to every pocket. Domino has stretched out right beside him, his spotted head resting near Grandpa's shoulder and his eyes closed in a deep, contented sleep. A pair of work gloves, a blue watering can tipped on its side, muddy boots, and pots of plants are scattered around the yard.
Dalmatians are high-energy dogs originally bred to run alongside horse-drawn carriages, so a good nap usually follows a good workout. These dogs typically need a lot of daily exercise, like long walks, runs, or vigorous play, to stay happy and well-behaved. A tired Dalmatian is often a calm one. If you nap or relax with your dog outdoors, though, be mindful of your gear. Fishing vests often hold hooks, lures, and line, and curious dogs can get a hook caught in their lips or paws. Keep tackle stored securely, and if a hook ever does snag your dog, don't try to pull it out yourself; call your vet.
For now, nothing is getting snagged except a few precious minutes of rest. The chores can wait until both of these good boys wake up.
