It Takes Both Frank and Dottie to Get Biscuit Ready for Bed
Bedtime in this home is a two-person ritual. Biscuit lies snug in a round, cushioned dog bed, a soft beige blanket drawn up around his shoulders so that only his face and big ears peek out. Dottie, in a cream cable-knit sweater with her gray hair pinned up, smooths the blanket from one side, while Frank leans over from the other, adjusting the fold with careful hands. Biscuit looks up with sleepy brown eyes, perfectly content to be fussed over. A basket of toys, a pair of slippers, a cozy couch, and soft window light make the room feel calm and ready for night.
A good dog bed matters, especially for breeds like Corgis that are prone to back and joint strain. Many owners choose supportive beds with raised sides, which give dogs something to rest their head on and a cozy, enclosed feeling. Orthopedic or memory foam beds can be helpful as dogs age. Place the bed in a quiet, draft-free spot away from heavy foot traffic, and wash covers and blankets regularly to manage fur and odor. A predictable bedtime routine, like a last potty break followed by tucking in, can help dogs settle down for the night.
Biscuit won't be getting out of this bed anytime soon, and who could blame him? Few dogs are tucked in with this much love.
