Grandma and Grandpa Were Lost in Their Jigsaw Puzzle. They Forgot Who Was Watching.

Over at the wooden kitchen table, a colorful jigsaw puzzle is slowly coming together, its blue and gold pieces spread across the surface beside a bowl of pears. Ruth, glasses on and green cardigan buttoned, leans in to fit a piece, while Frank, in a knit cap and flannel shirt, studies the board with quiet concentration. They've both forgotten that someone else has taken a seat. Snowdrop sits tall on a woven-seat chair in the foreground, her enormous white ruff fanned out and her bushy tail draped over the edge, looking out at the room with regal, slightly bored golden eyes, as if the puzzle is far beneath her.

Norwegian Forest Cats are among the larger domestic cat breeds, and they mature slowly, often not reaching their full size until they're several years old. Despite their impressive size, they're generally known as gentle, easygoing companions who like being near their families without demanding constant attention. They also love high places, thanks to their climbing heritage, so tall cat trees and sturdy shelves are much appreciated. Because they're big and solid, a sturdy chair, bed or perch is a better fit than a lightweight one. Watching quietly from a seat near their people is a very typical Forest Cat activity.

The puzzle may take all afternoon, but Snowdrop doesn't mind. She has the best seat in the kitchen and a perfect view of the two people she loves most.
