Grandpa Set Up His Easel and Pearl Chose the Perfect Napping Spot
Late afternoon sun filters over the wooden fence as Grandpa leans toward a small easel, brush in hand and a look of quiet focus on his face. His tan cable-knit cardigan blends with the warm light, and a metal watering can glints in the flower bed behind him. Stretched out on the grass beside the canvas, Pearl the white Poodle is fast asleep, one ear flopped over and her curls slightly rumpled. A few fallen leaves rest around her. Brushes, a little paint, and a quiet yard are all the day requires.
Spending time outdoors with a pet is good for both ends of the leash. Fresh air and a bit of gentle activity are helpful for people at any age, and dogs enjoy the smells, sounds, and sunshine of a yard. Poodles, in particular, are active, intelligent dogs who like to be near their people while they do things. If you enjoy a hobby outside, keep fresh water within reach for your dog, offer some shade on warm days, and keep paints and art supplies safely away from curious noses.
