A Ragdoll Found Grandpa's Yarn Basket and Made Herself at Home
Gus has settled in with his needles and a half-finished project, and Juniper has found the yarn. She sits right in the middle of his lap, tangled in loose loops, one paw hooked in a strand and the ball of wool tucked against her side. A basket of yarn sits on the table behind them next to a mug, and soft window light falls across the plants on the sill. A few plump balls of wool are stacked in the basket, and the extra yarn on the cat suggests she has already helped herself.
Yarn is a classic cat favorite, but it can be dangerous. If a cat swallows string or yarn, it can cause a serious blockage, so loose strands should be kept out of reach, and a cat that has eaten any should be seen by a vet right away. It is safest to store supplies in a closed basket and to give the cat her own toys, such as a wand or a soft ball, for playtime. A tangle is fine to untie together, as long as she isn't chewing on it.
Gus is smiling, which suggests he is not in a hurry to finish the row. Juniper has made herself part of the project, and he may be a bit more patient than most. A little untangling is a small price for this much company.
