A Baby Goat Found the Perfect Pillow by the Hearth. It Has Bat Ears.

In front of the stone hearth, where split logs are stacked and the last embers glow softly, a little tan baby goat has found the perfect pillow. It rests its chin on top of a black and white pied French Bulldog, eyes half closed and body sinking into a comfortable heap on the woven rug. The Frenchie, bat ears perked and big dark eyes looking up, seems entirely happy to serve as furniture. A folded brown blanket, a pair of sneakers by the wall and a houseplant in the corner give the room a lazy weekend feel.

French Bulldogs are compact, affectionate companion dogs with an easygoing, often comical personality. They usually adapt well to apartment or house life and do not need huge amounts of exercise, but they do love attention. As a flat-faced, or brachycephalic, breed, they can have trouble breathing in heat or during strenuous activity, so keeping them cool and avoiding overexertion matters. Around fireplaces, keep a screen in place to protect noses and paws from sparks and hot surfaces. Pied is the name for a mostly white coat with darker patches, and it is a common and much-loved look for the breed.

The fire may be burning low, but the warmth in this corner of the room is hard to miss. Two friends, one rug and a very comfortable afternoon.
