Not Every Babysitter Smiles. This Devon Rex Has Clearly Had Enough.
Not every babysitter is a smiling one. A cream Devon Rex with enormous ears, wavy fur, and a seriously unimpressed golden stare sits at the edge of a sunflower patch, while a crowd of yellow ducklings mills around right beside her, all orange bills and fluffy backsides. The ducklings seem completely at home, peering in every direction, while the cat's expression suggests she agreed to this job only under protest. Tall sunflowers bloom in every direction behind them, their bright faces matching the ducklings almost perfectly.
Devon Rex cats are known for their pixie-like faces, oversized ears, and short, soft, curly coat. Despite that sometimes skeptical look, they are usually playful, people-loving, and mischievous, and many enjoy perching on shoulders or following their humans from room to room. Their fine, thin coat does not provide as much insulation as a typical cat's, so Devons often seek out warm spots and may appreciate a cozy bed in cooler months. Pale cats with thin fur can also be more sensitive to strong sun, so shady places to rest outdoors are a good idea.
Grumpy face aside, the Devon has not walked away, and that says a lot. She is sitting right there among the sunflowers, keeping an eye on her little yellow crowd. Sometimes the friends who complain the loudest are the ones who stay the longest.
