The Terrier Walked the Fence Line and the Piglet Followed Close

Mist hangs low over the yard as two friends set off on their morning patrol. A black and white Boston Terrier balances along an old wooden board at the edge of the garden, head high, with an alert look as if he is checking the perimeter. Next to him on the ground, a pink piglet trots in step, snout down and curly tail bobbing, her ears bright in the golden light.

Boston Terriers are compact, energetic dogs who like having a job, even if the job is just walking the yard. Their short muzzles mean they should not exercise too hard in the heat, so early mornings like this are ideal. Pigs, on the other hand, love to forage, and a piglet on patrol is often snuffling the soil for tasty roots, which is a healthy instinct. Both do well with daily walks and exploring, and a fenced yard keeps everyone safe. A quick check of the grass for anything sharp or harmful is always smart before letting animals roam.

We can call the piglet Pearl. She is not too sure what the patrol is for, but she is very happy to be a part of it. The Terrier takes the lead, and Pearl keeps pace. If anything out of place turns up in the garden, they will certainly notice, and then they will probably decide to investigate it together.
