A Chocolate Havanese and a Grumpy-Faced Cat Claimed the Picnic Blanket
A blue-and-white striped blanket has been laid out on the patio, and two relaxed guests are enjoying the picnic. A chocolate brown Havanese lies with his silky curls ruffled by the breeze and his dark eyes half-closed. Beside him, a cream Exotic Shorthair sits like a loaf, her flat face wearing a mildly grumpy expression that is simply her usual look. Sandals, a water bottle, and a few potted plants sit around them.
Havanese are small, cheerful dogs from Cuba, known for their long, silky coats and friendly nature. They are often very social and attach strongly to their families. Their coats need regular brushing and trims to stay free of tangles.
Exotic Shorthairs are sometimes called the lazy person's Persian, thanks to their shorter coats and calm temperament. Their flat faces may mean they need extra care with eyes and breathing, especially in hot weather. If you spend time outdoors with a cat like this, keep her in the shade, and always have water within reach.
There isn't much of a plan for this picnic. No one is racing around or begging for snacks. They are simply enjoying the fresh air and each other's company on a lazy afternoon. The blanket may be a little rumpled, but it has been put to excellent use. Lazy afternoons rarely look this comfortable, or this charming.
