A White Bulldog and a Calf Found the Best Shade in the Yard

AI imagebulldogcalfapple tree

Red apples hang in the branches, and a string light glows warmly in the evening air. Beneath the tree, a white Bulldog rests with his wrinkled face turned slightly away and his paws stretched out in front of him. Clover lies beside him with her head resting lightly on his back, her white-blazed face calm and her eyes soft. A few windfall apples lie in the grass, and a wooden fence stands behind them.

Shade is a big deal for Bulldogs. Their short noses make it harder for them to cool down, so they do best when they can rest in a cool, shady place on warm days. They should always have fresh water, and walks are best taken in the cooler parts of the day. Apples are a popular treat, and the flesh is generally fine for dogs in small amounts, but the seeds and core should be removed, and fallen fruit can be rotten or fermented, so it is best not to let pets eat it. If you are unsure, talk to your vet.

The Bulldog does not seem to care about the apples at all. He is far more interested in the calf resting against him. It is the kind of quiet evening where nothing needs to happen and everything feels right. Even the apples seem to be waiting patiently for them to wake up.
