Frost Covered the Glass, and Two Friends Sat Down to Watch

AI imagedevon rexlop-eared bunnywinter window

Frost has drawn lacy white feathers across the window, and two friends are watching it from a blanket on the sill. A black Devon Rex with curly fur and a pointed pixie face sits tall, her yellow eyes turned toward something at the edge of the room. Next to her a tan lop-eared bunny sits with her ears relaxed and her gaze lifted, as if she is considering the frost herself. A small plant sits on a shelf in the corner, and everything in the room has a pale, wintry brightness.

Winter is a time when many pets seek out cozy places, and windowsills are a favorite because they offer light and a view. Windows can be drafty in cold weather, however, so a thick blanket or bed can make the spot more comfortable. Devon Rex cats have a thin, curly coat that gives them less insulation than many other cats, so they often look for warmth. Rabbits generally tolerate cold better than heat, but they still need to stay dry and out of drafts. Keep windows closed and latched, and check that the area is warm enough for sensitive animals.

Watching the frost seems to be a quiet joy for this duo. There is nothing to do except stay warm, look out, and enjoy the company beside you, which they do beautifully.
