A Tiny Frenchie Looked Up at the Biggest New Friend He'd Ever Met
A very small puppy is having a very big first meeting. A fawn and brindle French Bulldog puppy sits in the grass with his bat ears pointing out to the sides and his big dark eyes gazing up, his wrinkled face lifted toward his tall new neighbor. Pepper, the shaggy brown pony, lowers his nose and studies the puppy with a soft, curious eye.
The lawn is covered in clover, small leaves, and a few fallen autumn leaves. A blue watering can, a pair of gardening gloves, and a clay pot sit in the background. The light is soft, and a faint smell of damp earth seems to hang in the air.
French Bulldog puppies are playful and affectionate, with big bat ears and a love of cuddling. They have short noses, so they can overheat quickly, struggle with heavy exercise, and snore. Keep walks short and cool, and watch for labored breathing. When introducing any puppy to a pony, go slowly, keep both animals calm, and have an adult handle each one. Let them sniff each other from a distance first, and watch their body language. If either animal seems scared, give them space. Your vet can advise on safe introductions for flat-faced breeds.
Neither of them rushes the first hello. A quiet, careful look is a fine way to begin.
