The Samoyed Started at the Front of the Line and Went One by One
The Samoyed is leaning over the first duckling in line, and his tongue is out for a careful, gentle lick. His big white head and thick coat fill the top of the frame, his eyes are focused and kind, and behind the little yellow duckling stretches a patient row of siblings waiting for their turn. The old wooden floor glows in warm light, and a basket and a doorway sit in the background.
Samoyeds are gentle, friendly dogs with a thick white double coat that was built for cold weather in Siberia. They are social and cheerful, often called smiling dogs, and they usually love to be with their families. Their coat sheds heavily and needs frequent brushing, and they need plenty of exercise and company to stay happy.
Licking is a way dogs show affection and care, especially for those they are close to. Still, ducklings have delicate fluff and a damp coat can chill them, so licks should be gentle and brief. Ducklings also need warmth, clean water and the right food, and a vet or poultry expert can help you with the best setup.
The line of ducklings looks very patient and the Samoyed looks very proud of his work. It is a tender kind of grooming, one small duck at a time. Some friendships are built on small, careful gestures like this one. The ducklings seem to understand that perfectly well.
