A Tiny Yorkie Led the Lamb on an Evening Fence Walk
Golden light slants across the farm path, and a small blue and tan Yorkshire Terrier trots along the fence line with his ears alert. A white lamb walks a few steps ahead, head high, as if she knows the way. The wooden fence runs beside them with potted plants and a blue bucket behind it. The terrier's silky coat shines in the warm light, and every step looks purposeful. It's a small parade of two, and they seem very sure of the route. The Yorkie's tail is held high, and his small paws crunch on the dirt.
Yorkshire Terriers are tiny dogs with big hearts and bigger opinions. They were originally bred to catch rats in mills, and many still act bold and feisty despite weighing only a few pounds. Their long, fine coats need frequent brushing, and they're often kept trimmed for easier care. Because of their size, they are vulnerable around larger animals, so supervision matters whenever a Yorkie shares space with livestock. A fence like this keeps a small dog safe from wandering off. Lambs are quick and spirited too, so a good fence keeps everyone where they belong. Short, positive training sessions work well with this clever little breed.
The sun sinks a little lower, and they keep walking side by side, in no hurry to reach the end.
