The Schnauzer Puppy Stood Guard While the Pony Fell Fast Asleep
Somewhere between the toy basket and the living room couch, nap time has been declared. A gray-bearded Miniature Schnauzer puppy lies stretched out on the floor with his serious eyebrows and his big paws crossed in front of him, and tucked right against him is Clover, the shaggy little pony, sound asleep. Her head rests on the floor beside his front legs and her eyes are closed. Laundry, a plush bunny, a blue ball, and a pair of sneakers are scattered around them, as if the whole room agreed to tiptoe.
Miniature Schnauzers are sturdy, lively little dogs known for their bushy eyebrows and beards, and they usually do best with plenty of play and a bit of mental exercise each day. That whiskery face needs regular grooming and a gentle wipe after meals. Like most dogs, they enjoy a good snooze after a busy morning, and puppies in particular can sleep for much of the day while they grow. A quiet, comfortable spot and a predictable routine help young animals settle. If you are ever unsure how much rest your puppy needs, your vet can give you good guidance.
The Schnauzer wears the expression of a small guard on duty, brows knitted, keeping watch over his sleeping friend. It is a very important job, and he is clearly taking it seriously, at least until his own eyes get heavy.
