The Samoyed Puppy Lay Perfectly Still While a Pony Stepped Over Him
The living room has become a very small barnyard. A fluffy white Samoyed puppy lies stretched out on the rug with his chin on the floor, looking up with calm dark eyes and a blue collar around his neck. Above him, Clover the shaggy pony stands with her legs planted on either side of his shoulders and her head lowered, peering down at him with curiosity. A plush bunny sits on the couch, a mug rests on the windowsill, and sunlight glows through the curtains.
Samoyeds are known for their thick white double coats and their friendly, gentle expressions, often called the Samoyed smile. They are social, energetic dogs that generally love company, and they need regular brushing to keep that fluffy coat in good shape. Many Samoyeds are patient with other animals, but patience should never be tested too far. Whenever a large animal and a puppy share space, it is smart to supervise closely and make sure the puppy always has an easy way out. Little legs and big hooves are a combination best kept apart, and a calm approach makes introductions safer for everyone.
The puppy, for his part, seems unbothered, lying like a rug that has simply decided to be furry. Clover looks down at him as if asking a polite question, and he answers with a patient blink. Some friendships begin with a lot of fuss, and others begin with a very good lie-down.
