A Shih Tzu Lets a Gray Cat Borrow His Fluffy Dog Bed
A big, round, fluffy dog bed is nearly the same cream color as the Shih Tzu's white markings, and the dog has laid his black-and-white head right in the middle of it. Pressed against his ear, a smooth gray cat has curled up with her eyes shut and her ears turned back. The Shih Tzu's eyes are warm and heavy-lidded, as though he is almost asleep. A wall and a doorframe are visible in the background, and a soft light fills the room.
Shih Tzus have long been bred as companions, and they tend to be gentle, friendly and happiest when they are close to their people. Their long coat needs regular brushing, and many owners keep it trimmed short. Cats sometimes choose dog beds because they are soft, warm and smell like a friend. If your cat likes to borrow a dog's bed, it's a good idea to have enough beds for everyone, so there is no competition. If a bed is getting worn or dirty, washing it regularly helps keep pets comfortable.
The two heads rest almost on top of each other. The dog's face is relaxed, the cat's is peaceful and the bed seems to be doing its job. There is nothing better than a soft place to land, especially with a friend. Whoever got there first, the bed has plenty of room now, and it looks like it will stay that way all afternoon, with nobody keeping score at all.
