A Silver Tabby and Six Ducklings Took the Tractor Seat in the Old Workshop
The black tractor seat in the old workshop is cracked and dusty, and it has a very special group of passengers. A silver tabby British Shorthair sits on one side with her striped coat and her golden eyes looking off into the distance, and six fluffy yellow ducklings are huddled together on the other side. Boots, buckets, and tools line the shelves behind them. We'll call the cat Pewter again. Dust and straw cling to the seat, and the afternoon light slants in through a small window.
British Shorthairs are calm and sturdy cats with round faces. They are known for being affectionate but not clingy, and for being easygoing around other pets. They enjoy a comfortable spot to watch the world, and a tractor seat is as good as any. They also tend to stay calm in unusual places, which is probably why this one looks so at home.
A workshop is not a safe place for animals, with its tools, chemicals, and moving parts. Keep pets and ducklings away from fuel, oil, and sharp objects, and never leave them alone near machinery. If you want your ducklings to explore, use a clean, safe space with supervision.
Pewter sits tall like a proud driver, and the ducklings are ready for the ride. It is a quiet adventure. The old seat has probably never had such good company.
