A Bichon Puppy and a Pony Squeezed Into the Porch Hammock
A rope hammock sways gently on a wooden porch, and inside it the two friends have tucked themselves in. The Bichon Frise puppy is a small white cloud with his eyes squeezed shut, and the shaggy brown pony rests her head on the edge of the hammock beside him. Behind them, a wooden shed, a watering can and some flowerpots catch the light of the afternoon. The whole scene looks soft, slow and very much like summer.
Hammocks are great for relaxing, but they can be risky for pets if used without supervision. Dogs can tip or get tangled in ropes, so be sure the hammock is sturdy and low to the ground. Bichon Frises are small and light, and they love to be near their people, so they are happy to share cuddly spots. Ponies are far too heavy for real hammocks, but the idea charms us anyway. If your dog likes to nap outside, give them shade, water and a safe spot away from the sun's full heat. Dogs can overheat even while resting, and flat or small-faced breeds are especially vulnerable. A gentle breeze and a quiet porch are a lovely way to spend an afternoon, as long as everyone stays cool.
The rope creaks softly, and a tiny snore drifts out from the white fluffball. There is no reason to wake anyone.
