The Corgi Puppy Spread Out a Blanket and the Pony Joined In
A blue-and-white blanket has been spread across the floor, and two friends have made it a resting place. The Corgi puppy, with his big upright ears and white chest, sits close to the pony, who has laid her whole head on the blanket and shut her eyes. His expression is gentle and a little proud. Behind them are a lamp, a table and a potted plant in a warm, glowing room, and everything feels settled and calm.
Corgis are cheerful, clever herding dogs with short legs and a surprising amount of energy. They were bred to herd cattle, and some Corgis show that instinct by nipping heels, so early training is helpful. Corgi puppies are charming but also prone to weight gain, so keep treats moderate and make sure they get regular exercise. Ponies are social animals who feel safest with a friend nearby, and many enjoy the company of dogs. A picnic blanket is a nice way for pets to share a spot, but use a washable one and keep an eye out for chewing. Outdoor picnics with pets should always include shade, water and a safe leash or boundary. Rest and routine are the keys to a happy day for everyone.
There is no food on the blanket, only good company. For these two, that is more than enough.
