A Pug Puppy and a Pony Found a Hideaway in the Sunflowers

AI imagepug puppyponysunflowers

Sunflowers rise on every side, and in the middle of them a Pug puppy sits upright with the proud expression of someone who has found the best spot in the field. A shaggy brown pony rests beside him, her legs tucked under her and her dark eyes looking at the camera. Behind them is a small house, with a late-day glow on the roof and the sky turning gold. Petals and green leaves frame the two like a bouquet.

Sunflowers are a classic late-summer sight, and the good news is that they are generally considered safe for pets, though the stalks and seeds can cause tummy upsets if eaten in large amounts. If your pup likes to nibble plants, talk to your vet about what is safe in your yard. Pugs enjoy time outdoors, but their short snouts make them prone to overheating, so shade and cool water are a must on warm days. Ponies are happy grazers, and a field is a natural home for them. If a pup and a pony share a field, keep the introductions slow and make sure the dog is not chasing or nipping. Calm, supervised time together is the best way to build a friendship that lasts.

The sunflowers turn their faces to the sun, and the two friends do much the same. It is a warm, golden kind of afternoon.
