Ready for Halloween in a Skeleton Sweater, and Looking a Little Skeptical About It
Ready for Halloween, and looking a little skeptical about it. A ruddy Abyssinian kitten sits on the doormat beside a dark wooden front door, wearing a snug black sweater printed with a white skeleton, ribs and bones neatly outlined across its chest. Its huge ears stand tall, its warm ticked coat glows in the evening light, and its round amber-green eyes stare straight ahead with a quizzical expression. Behind it, a navy jacket hangs on a hook, a pumpkin and a pair of sneakers sit by the wall, and dried leaves are scattered across the floor.
Abyssinian kittens are lively, curious, and almost always on the move, so a costume that is easy to wear is key. Lightweight sweaters can work for short photo sessions, but they should fit comfortably without pinching the legs or neck, and the kitten should never be left alone while dressed up. Many cats dislike clothing, so watch for signs of stress such as hiding, crouching low, or trying to wriggle free. Hairless or thin-coated cats may benefit from a sweater for warmth, but most cats with full coats do not need one indoors.
Spooky outfit or not, this kitten looks far more interested in investigating the door than in scaring anyone. A few snapshots, a treat, and then it will be back to its favorite costume of all: just being a cat.
