The Porch Steps Became a Pirate Ship and the Captain Is Very Small
Arr, matey. A spotted golden-brown kitten has claimed the porch steps as her pirate ship, and she is dressed for the part. A tiny black tricorn hat with a white skull and crossbones sits on her head, a black patch covers one eye and a little dark vest with skull buttons drapes over her shoulders. Her one visible eye glows amber in the sunshine, and her mouth is slightly open as if she is mid-command. Small pumpkins sit beside her on the boards, fallen maple leaves are scattered everywhere, and a coiled blue hose and potted plants sit in the yard behind.
That leopard-like spotted coat belongs to the look of the Bengal, a breed known for its striking markings, athletic build and high energy. Bengals are usually very intelligent and active, and they tend to enjoy climbing, interactive play and even learning tricks. Many are also unusually fond of water. Because they are so busy and curious, they need plenty of enrichment, such as cat trees, puzzle feeders and daily play sessions. For costume photos, an eye patch should never press on the eye itself, and any outfit should come off as soon as the picture is taken.
This fearless little buccaneer looks ready to plunder the treat jar and sail off across the backyard. Every crew needs a captain this cute.
