A Grumpy-Faced Kitten Wore the Reindeer Sweater With Zero Joy
Small, round, and a little bit grumpy-looking, this gray kitten wears a knitted sweater with reindeer and snowflake patterns in red, cream, and brown. Its big dark eyes and flat nose give it an expression of deep suspicion, as though it has just been told the sweater is a gift. The wood floor is warm in the light from the window, and behind the kitten sits a lovely scene, with a small tree strung with beads, a plaid blanket on the couch, and a basket of throws.
Flat-faced cats often have a naturally serious look, thanks to the shape of their muzzle and the set of their eyes. In truth, many of them are mellow, gentle companions who enjoy lounging with their people. That face does need some extra care: wipe the area around the eyes gently if tear staining appears, and ask your vet about anything that seems off. As for sweaters, short cats can enjoy a snug sweater only if it fits well, but most healthy indoor cats with fur do not need one. If a cat freezes, flattens its ears, or tries to wiggle out, take it off and try again another day.
Our model today, who might be named Grumble, wears the sweater with the dignity of a tiny critic at a fashion show. The reindeer on its back seem happier about the arrangement than it does. Still, the effect is undeniably charming.
