A Tiny White Pup Put Her Paws Up to Get a Better Look at the Cocoa
Paws up on the edge of a wooden table, a fluffy white Maltese puppy gazes at a cream mug topped with marshmallows. Its dark eyes are round and serious, its black nose twitches slightly, and its coat looks like a cloud. A knitted blanket and a few pinecones sit on the table, while behind it a cozy room offers a gray couch, a window with soft light, and a tree glowing under a garland.
Maltese dogs are small, gentle companions known for being affectionate and a bit playful, and their silky white coats need regular brushing to stay tangle-free. Because they are so small, a Maltese puppy can be at risk from things that might not bother a bigger dog, including chocolate and hot drinks. Cocoa contains chocolate, which is toxic to dogs, and marshmallows can contain xylitol. Keep mugs away from table edges, and call your vet if a pet laps up something it should not. A small treat made for dogs is a much better way to share a cozy moment.
This little fluffball, whom we will call Marshmallow, looks like she has made a friend of the mug. She watches it with respect and admiration, perhaps hoping the marshmallows will leap out. They will not, but the afternoon is still full of warm light and quiet, and that seems to be enough for now.
