Frost Covered the Glass, and a Chocolate Lab Puppy Sat Very Still
The glass is white with frost, and a chocolate brown Labrador puppy sits right in front of it on a chunky knit blanket. Its ears are soft and velvety, and its eyes are turned toward the window, as if it has noticed something out in the cold. A sprig of pine with pinecones hangs at the top of the frame, and the room behind it holds a plaid cushion, a plant, and the warm glow of morning sun.
Labradors are friendly, outgoing dogs that love people, food, and play. As puppies, they have lots of energy and will chew on nearly anything, so plenty of safe chew toys and exercise are important. They are also known for their appetite, so measure meals and keep an eye on treats, and ask your vet what healthy weight looks like for your pup. On cold days, a Lab puppy may want to stay close to a warm window or blanket, so a soft bed in a draft-free spot is ideal.
Our window watcher, a sweet pup called Cocoa, seems very calm for a Labrador. She is paying attention to the frost patterns and the pine branch, or maybe to a bird that flits across the yard. Cold mornings are nicest when you are inside and wrapped in wool. This puppy has the right idea, and the view is lovely.
