A Samoyed Puppy With Bat Wings Is Ready for Takeoff
A fluffy white Samoyed puppy sits on a lawn wearing a pair of small black bat wings clipped to a harness. The mouth is open in a happy smile, and the wings stick out at either side like a tiny superhero cape. Behind the puppy, a porch is draped with a Halloween garland of black bats, and a jack-o'-lantern sits on the steps near a doormat and some fallen leaves.
Wings and capes are some of the simplest costumes for dogs, since they leave the face and legs free. Even so, check that the harness fits well and does not rub under the legs or limit the dog's walking. Keep an eye on the straps, because a Samoyed's thick fur can hide where a harness sits. Take the costume off after a short wear, and give the puppy a break from any gear.
Samoyeds were bred to help herd reindeer and pull sleds in Siberia, and they remain cheerful, energetic dogs. They are known for their friendly, smiling faces and thick, fluffy coats. Their coat needs regular brushing to keep it from matting, especially during shedding season. Because they like to be around people, they do best in homes where they're part of the family.
With those wings and that smile, this puppy looks ready for takeoff. Luckily, the lawn is soft and the only flight plan is a short run across the grass.
