A Harlequin Great Dane Puppy Showed Up in the Kitchen in an Apron
Dressed in a green chef's apron, a harlequin Great Dane puppy sits in the middle of a busy kitchen. The black-and-white spotted coat, pink nose and floppy ears give him a goofy, lovable look, and around him the counter is full of Thanksgiving dishes: a casserole, a bowl of cranberries, fresh herbs, garlic, a lemon and a basket of rolls.
A kitchen full of food is a risky place for a curious puppy. Onions, garlic, grapes, raisins, chocolate and certain sweeteners can all be harmful to dogs. Keep these items out of reach, and avoid letting a puppy walk on counters, where hot items and knives can be a danger. If your puppy eats something suspicious, call your vet right away.
Great Danes are gentle giants, famous for their size and sweet nature. Harlequin Danes have a white coat with black patches, and they grow quickly into very big dogs. Puppies need proper nutrition and moderate exercise to support their growing bones. Early training matters, since a Great Dane who jumps up at full size can knock over a grown person.
This chef-in-training looks ready for work. For now, the apron is adorable and the kitchen is a little safer with a puppy sitting still. Maybe a small, dog-safe treat will be the first thing he tastes today. A tail wag says he agrees.
