The Sphynx Kitten Was Dressed as a Hot Dog. She Had Questions.
On the lawn behind the house, a hairless gray Sphynx kitten has been tucked inside a fluffy hot dog bun, with a little sausage and a stripe of mustard resting on her back. Her huge ears stand straight up and her round eyes are wide, as though she's not sure what just happened to her. Orange pumpkins and fallen leaves dot the yard behind her, and the grass is still bright green.
Sphynx cats have little or no fur, so they get chilly more easily than most cats and can sunburn outdoors. That makes an October lawn a short-visit kind of place. If you want a photo outside, keep it quick, stay close, and bring a warm blanket back inside afterward. A soft, loose costume is also a kind gesture for a cat with bare skin; avoid anything scratchy, tight, or with small pieces that could be chewed off.
Sphynx cats are also known for being extra cuddly, curious, and a bit clownish, and they often follow their people from room to room. This one clearly has the personality for a costume, even if her expression suggests she has questions. A hot dog may not be the usual Halloween pick, but on a kitten this small, it's hard to imagine a funnier one. Moments like this are a good reminder to slow down and enjoy the small things. A kitten's whole world is only a few feet wide, and she seems perfectly content inside it.
