The Spider Webs Were Meant for the Ceiling. The Kitten Disagreed.
Somewhere between the couch and the doorway, the fake spider web decorations lost the battle. A fluffy cream point Ragdoll kitten sits right in the middle of the stretchy white strands, wearing them like a lacy shawl. Her pale blue eyes look up and off to the side, her ears are tipped slightly back, and a few wisps stick to her fur and whiskers. In the background, a small pumpkin and a box of decorations wait on the floor.
Stretchy fake webbing is one of the riskier Halloween decorations for pets. Kittens can get tangled, and if they chew or swallow the fibers they can cause serious trouble in the stomach and intestines. If you decorate with webbing, hang it high and out of reach, use it sparingly, and check for stray pieces on the floor. If a kitten is stuck, stay calm and gently peel the strands off rather than pulling, and call your vet if any was swallowed.
Ragdolls are known for being relaxed, gentle cats that often go limp when picked up, which is where their name comes from. That mellow nature probably explains why this kitten looks more puzzled than panicked. She seems to be wondering how the whole room turned sticky, and she isn't in a hurry to figure it out. Moments like this are a good reminder to slow down and enjoy the small things. A kitten's whole world is only a few feet wide, and she seems perfectly content inside it.
