The Tiniest Lion in the Yard Took Her Crown Seriously
Nobody is going to argue with this lion. A tiny white kitten sits in the grass of a backyard wearing a fuzzy golden mane that frames her round face like a sunflower. Her blue eyes are wide and serious, and her small pink nose twitches slightly. Dry brown leaves cover the lawn around her, and a few pumpkins sit by the fence in the distance.
Lion mane costumes are a popular pet pick, but fit matters. The mane should sit loosely around the neck without pressing on the throat, and the kitten should be able to look around freely. If a kitten shakes her head hard, backs away, or lies flat on the ground, it's a sign she wants it off. Outdoors, keep kittens on a leash and harness, or better yet, in a secure area, since small cats can bolt quickly when startled.
There is something funny about a kitten pretending to be a big cat, especially one that is so clearly a house cat at heart. Domestic cats and lions share many of the same instincts, like stalking, pouncing, and watching from a high perch, and they just show them on a different scale. This little lion looks calm and brave, and the leaves around her only add to the royal setting. Her kingdom is the lawn, and it is a very comfortable one. Moments like this are a good reminder to slow down and enjoy the small things. A kitten's whole world is only a few feet wide, and she seems perfectly content inside it.
