The Graveyard Had One Very Fluffy Visitor Hiding Behind a Tombstone
Two mossy gray tombstones lean together in the yard, and a fluffy orange kitten has tucked herself right against them, peeking around with big amber eyes. Cobwebs droop from the corner of the nearest stone, fallen leaves cover the grass, and a small pumpkin glows in the background. She seems to be hiding, but her bright fur makes her about as easy to spot as a traffic cone.
Cats love hiding spots because they feel safe when they can watch the world without being seen. It's a natural instinct, and it's worth honoring with a quiet box or a covered bed in your home. Yard decorations, though, need a quick safety check. Make sure foam or plastic tombstones are weighted down so they can't tip onto a kitten, and keep fake cobwebs, wires, and lights out of reach, since small animals can chew or tangle in them.
Orange longhaired kittens tend to be soft, fluffy, and sweet-faced, and their coats really glow in the golden light of fall. This one looks like she's playing a quiet game of peekaboo with the whole neighborhood. The graveyard is more cozy than creepy with such a small ghost-hunter on guard, and her curious little face is the best decoration in the yard. Moments like this are a good reminder to slow down and enjoy the small things. A kitten's whole world is only a few feet wide, and she seems perfectly content inside it.
