An Abyssinian Kitten Went Straight for the Pumpkin Seed Mess

AI imageabyssinian kittenhalloweenpumpkin carving

The table is a pumpkin explosion of seeds, orange strings, and chunks of pulp, and a cinnamon-colored Abyssinian kitten has her nose right in the middle of it. Her big ears are tilted forward, her golden-green eyes are on a single seed, and her warm, ticked coat glows in the afternoon light. A carved pumpkin sits in the background, and a kitchen counter and window show beyond.

Abyssinians are among the most active, curious cats, often called the clowns of the cat world. They love to climb, explore, and investigate anything new, so a table full of pumpkin guts is practically a playground. Providing tall perches, interactive toys, and daily play can help channel all that curiosity.

As for the pumpkin itself, plain, cooked pumpkin is often fine for cats in small amounts, but raw or moldy pumpkin, and anything seasoned or sweetened, is best avoided. Seeds can also be a choking risk for small mouths. A good habit is to clear off the table after carving and wipe it down so the kitten isn't tempted to nibble. Until then, this little investigator is happily at work, tracking every seed with the focus of a detective at the scene. A paw reaches out, taps a single seed, and sends it skittering across the table. She looks very pleased with the result and leans in to do it again.
