This Jack Russell Puppy Hopped Into the Pumpkin Wagon and Took Over
A little white-and-tan Jack Russell puppy has climbed into a red wagon and settled on top of a heap of orange pumpkins. One floppy ear drops over his face, his dark eyes glance sideways, and fall leaves dot the lawn behind him. A porch with mums sits in the background, and the afternoon looks perfectly crisp. His front paws grip the edge of a pumpkin as if he were steering, and a few crunchy oak leaves have blown into the wagon bed.
Jack Russell Terriers are small but famously energetic, with a big sense of curiosity and a strong urge to chase and dig. They need daily exercise and mental games, or they may invent their own entertainment. Puppies like this one do best with short, fun training sessions and a safe yard with a secure fence.
Pumpkins are generally safe for dogs to sniff and plain cooked pumpkin is sometimes used as a treat, but a puppy should not chew on carved pumpkins that have been sitting out, since they can grow mold. Candles inside jack-o'-lanterns are another reason to keep puppies at a distance. Battery lights are a safer glow.
We can call him Pip. He looks like he has been put in charge of the pumpkin delivery service, and he takes his role seriously, wagon and all. The pumpkins may be heavy, but the cargo is clearly in good paws, and the trip looks like it will be a happy one.
