A Cavalier Puppy in a Witch Hat Sat Up Straight on the Hay Bale
Sitting upright on a hay bale, a Blenheim Cavalier puppy wears a pointed black witch hat that sits a bit sideways on his silky head. His chestnut-and-white coat, long ears, and big dark eyes give him a sweet, slightly puzzled look. A glowing jack-o'-lantern, a dark front door, and some mums fill the porch behind him. Straw clings to his paws, and a stack of pumpkins and a plant pot add color to the porch behind him.
Blenheim is the chestnut-and-white coloring of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. They are affectionate, friendly, and gentle, and they tend to enjoy cuddles as much as walks. They do well in many homes, though they are happiest when they have company, and a vet can guide you on their special health needs.
A hat is one of the easiest costume pieces for a dog, but it can still slip over his eyes or bother his ears. A chin strap should be soft and loose, and the hat should be removed quickly if he shakes it off or seems upset. Treats help puppies see costumes as something positive.
We can call him Wizard. He may not have a wand, but with that sweet face and the hat on top, his magic is already working. It is a sweet little costume and a very polite puppy, and the combination is hard to beat on a crisp October afternoon.
