A Dalmatian Puppy Keeps Watch on the Storm From His Window

AI imagedalmatianfrosty windowsnowstorm

Ice crystals feather the edges of the windowpane, and behind the glass sits a Dalmatian puppy with his head turned toward the storm outside. His black spots look freshly inked against his white coat, and one spotted ear folds over in a soft curl. His dark eyes follow the blowing snow with serious interest, as if he's keeping a careful log of every flake that falls.

Dalmatians are lively, athletic dogs that were originally bred to run alongside carriages. That heritage shows up as a love of exercise and a strong need for daily activity. Puppies are born pure white and develop their spots over their first few weeks. Because they have short coats and little undercoat, Dalmatians usually need a warm place to rest and a sweater or coat for longer winter walks.

On stormy days when going outside isn't practical, indoor games can help a restless pup burn off energy. A food puzzle, a short training session, or a gentle game of hide the toy keeps the mind busy. A window perch is wonderful too, as watching the world is great enrichment, especially for a curious puppy.

Maybe his name is Dot, or maybe Pebble. Either way, he has the best seat in the house for the show, and he is absolutely not going to miss a minute of it.
