Dumpling Climbed Into the Stocking and Refused to Come Out
Only a wrinkled face and one slightly crooked ear peek over the white cuff of the red cable-knit stocking where the Bulldog puppy has settled in. His dark eyes look up with heart-melting sleepiness, and his pink nose rests on the wool. A bone-shaped chew lies on the wooden floor nearby, and a glowing tree and a window with winter light blur in the background.
Bulldog puppies are known for their sweet temperament and their sturdy, wrinkly look. Those folds need regular cleaning, since moisture and dirt can collect in the creases and lead to skin irritation. A soft, damp cloth followed by a dry one is usually enough, and your vet can show you how to do it gently. Bulldogs also don't do well in extreme heat or cold, so a warm room is perfect.
Stockings and knits are cute, but loose yarn can be a hazard if chewed. Keep an eye on him while he's in it, and take the stocking away if he starts nibbling the wool. Puppies sleep a lot, so a calm, warm place to rest is a gift in itself, and a sleepy puppy in a stocking is a pretty great present.
We'll call him Dumpling. He's the best gift Santa ever left, and he's quite content to stay where he is until morning.
