Ziggy Climbed Into the Jack-o'-Lantern and Looked Out Like It Was Hers
Two big golden-green eyes and a pair of tall ears are all that show above the rim of a carved pumpkin. A cinnamon Abyssinian kitten has climbed right inside the jack-o'-lantern, and her small face rests on the cut edge as she looks out. The pumpkin's triangle eyes and zigzag mouth are glowing orange, and behind her are a wooden floor, a woven mat, a folded towel, and the corner of a room with a fern.
Abyssinians are lively, curious cats, and kittens of this breed are famous for climbing into everything. Their warm ticked coat makes them look like tiny wild cats. They are fast learners and love interactive play, so toys like feather wands and puzzle feeders help burn off energy. Providing tall cat trees and safe hiding spots helps them satisfy their curiosity safely.
A carved pumpkin is a fun cat toy but has a few cautions. Candles inside are a serious fire hazard around pets, so battery-operated lights are better, and the pumpkin should be fresh and clean, since old, moldy pumpkin can upset a cat's stomach. Sharp edges from carving can scratch a curious kitten. We will call this adventurer Ziggy. She looks quite satisfied with her new hiding spot, safely tucked in, and she seems to think she is the pumpkin's most important feature.
