Clementine Wore the Pumpkin Hat and Looked Slightly Concerned
She is wearing a knitted pumpkin. A tiny grey tabby sits on a concrete doorstep in a bright orange knit hat with a green curly stem, and the matching cowl covers her shoulders. Her green eyes are wide and a bit worried, and her white-tipped paws stay close together. Purple mums bloom in pots beside her, fallen leaves dot the step, and a pair of sneakers waits at the door behind.
Kittens generally dislike wearing things, so a costume should be tried for just a moment, with treats and a gentle voice, and removed as soon as she seems upset. Choose a soft, stretchy fabric, avoid anything that covers her eyes or nose, and check for buttons or strings that could be chewed. Many cats never enjoy costumes, and that is perfectly fine.
A doorstep is not a good place for a kitten to be unsupervised, especially at Halloween when there is a lot of noise, strangers, and open doors. Keep her safely indoors, and take photos or visits outside only while holding her or watching closely. This little pumpkin we will call Clementine. She has a very serious expression, as if she knows that she is the cutest decoration on the street. A small gray kitten in a bright orange hat is hard to beat on an October evening.
