Relish Put On the Hot Dog Costume and Had No Idea What Was Happening
It is hard to say who is more surprised, the kitten or the viewer. A tiny white Persian stands on the lawn in a plush hot dog costume, complete with a squiggle of mustard, and gazes at the camera with huge, round, blue-grey eyes. Her fluffy fur sticks out around the bun like a cloud. Behind her, a small jack-o'-lantern grins in the grass, with leaves scattered across the yard and a pot of yellow flowers by the steps.
Persian kittens have long, thick coats and flat faces that give them a sweet, wide-eyed look. They are usually calm and gentle, and they like quiet, comfortable homes. Their coats need daily brushing as they grow, and their faces need regular gentle wiping to keep the eyes clean. Because of their flat faces, some Persians may have breathing or tear duct issues, and a vet can advise you about care.
A costume like this one should be light, comfortable, and worn only for a few minutes, with the kitten closely watched. If she freezes, flattens her ears, or tries to wriggle out, take it off at once. Never leave a costumed cat unattended, and keep a kitten from eating any part of it. We will call this fluffy little frank Relish. She has the wide stare of a kitten who has no idea what she is wearing, and she is the best-looking snack on the lawn.
