Snowdrop Found the Pumpkin Carving Table and Went Straight In

The pumpkin has been carved, and the leftovers are everywhere. A tiny white kitten leans over a wooden table covered in pale seeds, strings of orange pulp, and chunks of pumpkin, her nose just inches from the mess. Her pink ears point out to the sides and her small paws are planted firmly. A bowl of seeds, a blue cloth, and a bright kitchen window with a sink and a view of the street fill the background.

Plain pumpkin flesh and seeds are generally not poisonous to cats, but they are not part of a kitten's diet, and a pile of slimy, stringy pulp can upset a small stomach. Seeds can also be a choking hazard, and salted or seasoned seeds are a bad idea. A kitten that eats a lot of pumpkin may get diarrhea or vomiting, so keep the mess cleaned up and talk to your vet if she seems unwell.

A carving table is also home to sharp knives, scoops, and sometimes candles, so it is best to keep a kitten out of the room while people work. We will call this young inspector Snowdrop. She is not eating anything, just sniffing, with the careful nose of a tiny detective. White kittens are very good at looking innocent, and this one looks like she has no idea how many seeds have landed on the table. It is a quiet, curious end to a pumpkin carving day.
