A Bichon Frise Puppy Sits Politely Under the Glowing Porch Lights
A cloud of curly white fur sits upright on the porch, and two dark eyes and a black nose peek from the middle of it. The Bichon Frise puppy has his front paws neatly together on the wooden boards, and strings of orange lights loop along the railing behind him. A pot of rusty mums, a small pumpkin and another on the rail, a few fallen leaves and a quiet street in the evening finish the picture.
Bichon Frises are small, cheerful dogs with a hypoallergenic reputation, though no dog is completely free of allergens. Their soft, curly coat needs regular brushing and trimming, and puppies benefit from gentle grooming practice. They are friendly, playful and usually love being with people, which makes them wonderful family companions, though they may not enjoy being left alone for long periods.
String lights add warmth to a porch, but cords and bulbs are tempting to a curious puppy. Keep wires out of reach or covered, use lights made for outdoor use and unplug them when no one is watching. A white puppy on a dim porch is also hard to see, so a light-up collar and a leash are a good idea when going outside after dark.
We will call him Snowdrop. He has such a polite posture that he looks like he is waiting for an invitation. The porch lights glow, the pumpkins are lined up and a perfect puffball sits at the center of the evening.
