A Red Tabby Kitten in a Witch Hat Heard Something Above Her
With her chin raised and her eyes turned upward, a tiny red tabby Exotic Shorthair kitten sits on a bale of hay wearing a black witch hat that is perched on her head. Her flat little face and big round eyes give her a sweet, curious look, and straw is scattered around her paws. In the living room behind her, there is a sofa with a grey blanket, a basket of toys, a little jack-o'-lantern, and a window letting in daylight. She looks as if she has just heard a sound from above.
Exotic Shorthair kittens are rounded, plush little cats with a gentle, easygoing personality. Their flat faces can lead to tear staining and sometimes noisy breathing, so a damp cloth for gentle cleaning and regular vet checkups help. For a hat, a kitten needs a light, soft one with a loose, adjustable strap, and she should wear it for a moment only. If she shakes her head, paws at it, or backs away, take it off. And as with any hay indoors, sweep up loose bits so that she does not chew or inhale the dust.
We might call her Ginger. She has the look of the youngest witch at the party, full of wonder and still working out her spells. The hat tilts, the hay crackles, and she looks up as if the broomstick might be arriving any minute.
